Warren V. Pope interview WOTS 009

Welcome to our first filed interview. I’m sitting down at Mojo’s coffee shop in New Orleans with retired NOPD Sgt Warren Pope to discuss his writing and career.

About the author

Warren is a  retired sergeant from the New Orleans Police Department. He is a divorced father of two and a Katrina survivor and enjoy writing about his experiences as a cop. There is no doubt he has a sense of humor.

He is from New Orleans and have spent his whole life (so far) in this, the most beautiful of American cities.

About the books

 Growing up in Blue

This is a narrative of a young Officer’s journey through the New Orleans Police Department, told in a series of tales…humor being a necessary part of such a narrative

…from the bottom of my City

…from the bottom of my City is a collection of short stories that recalls a young mans growth from naïve rookie to seasoned veteran, with a few other recollections thrown in to balance the impression the collection offers. Being a cop unavoidably involves politics which often distracts one from accomplishing his mission. Frustration an Laughter go hand-in-hand in the humid, nitty-gritty streets of the magical City that is New Orleans..

Running from the Police volumes 1-4

This serial documents the journey of a young man through the New Orleans Police Department’s academy and through his years and assignments. There are some surprises in store…

And Several Others……………………………

This episode was brought to you by Xiphos Books & Training. Xiphos Books is responsible for books such as ‘Welcome to New Orleans… How many shots did you hear? Volume 1 and 2 as well as the fiction novel A Salty Life & A Traitor’s Death. Be sure to stop by their website and look at their books, training and public speaking dates.

Remember that next week we will be interviewing Michael Morse. Michael is the author of CITY LIFE and several other great books relating Fire and EMS tales.
